When Mother Earth said # Me Too..

doom-2372308__340

When the Axes started swinging and made contact with innocent, all caring, all providing trees, When there was massive deforestation world wide in the name of development, the homes of many living creatures were destroyed. They all cried and said # Me Too.., but we didn’t listen..we continued with our “progress”.

When the Glaciers started to melt for more than half a century due to rising temperatures, there was a loud shout out, #Me Too.., we didn’t pay heed.

When the rivers, seas and oceans were polluted with plastic and garbage, the water bodies, the marine creatures cried foul and said # Me Too..,we were too busy to hear their pleads for mercy.

The assault on the gigantic high mountain ranges are no exception to the cries of # Me Too..we ignored..

The water tables are continually depleting, and the water sources drying up, droughts hitting nations, crops failing, cries of # Me Too..playing loud, but we are all in the non audible zone to hear the cries of Mother Earth..

When the going became tough and beyond tolerance, the Mother took charge to unleash her fury in the form of devastating Tsunamis, cyclones, incessant rains in retaliation to the brutal assaults and abuses meted out to her by the human species in the name of constant development..but, when such natural calamities happen, we plead helplessness and become humble, and then they just become memories, till the next one happens…

I do hope the human “beings” wake up from the deep slumber to listen to the cries of Mother Earth and bring about an awakening within each individual and create a revolution to save our Mother.

An Amalgamation !

via Daily Prompt: Congregate

Like the roots of the tree congregate to give life to the tree,

Like the rivers amalgamate into the sea,

Like the forests, oceans, hills, mountains, flora and fauna merge into nature,

Like individuals come together to form  families,

Like families collectively make the world,

Like the world merges into the Universe…

Let’s all congregate to celebrate that power, energy and force which binds us to the Universe.

Let’s celebrate the power of being one with that power, of belonging to the Universe !!

Are we killing oxygen?

via Daily Prompt: Atmospheric

barren trees

We better wake up to the atmospheric pollution we are causing. This is the state of a few  trees on a State Highway. I dread to imagine, what if most of the trees accept this attire down the line…Where and how would we live?? Delhi is one prime example of  chaos and destruction caused by our ascend towards development. What are we leaving behind for our future generations. How can we kill trees, who are the main source of our life? How can we harm our very own life service provider? We need to wake up, before the alarm rings…

What a relief.

Majestic and tall, she stands as a mountain,

Swaying and dancing, she positions herself as trees,

Vivacity and calmness, she brings as flowing oceans and rivers,

Vibrance and radiance she brings with blooming flowers,

A crisp nip, she has with the ice and snow,

The freshness in whiffs of breeze,

And  invigorating droplets of rain.

But alas, she has been subjected to various atrocities by man(un)kind – tampering with her nature, beauty, cluttering, dumping, polluting the air and water, to name a few…

But, Mother Earth, feels proud of the rising sun, every morning, and also stands relieved..thankfully and fortunately, the only one thing untouched and unharmed by mankind is my “SUN”.

Are you extra ordinary?

via Daily Prompt: Ordinary

As a matter of fact, we are all ordinary human beings. There are billions in the world, and we  are just a drop in the ocean, just one of them. We often take ourselves for granted and do not realize our true potential. We do the mundane jobs and tag ourselves with stress and modern lifestyle ailments.

To think of  all the extra ordinary feats, a Mahatma Gandhi, or a Mother Teresa or a Nelson Mandela  achieved, being ordinary human beings? Human beings are no ordinary beings, they are extra ordinary. If they operated at maximum efficiency, they could even pluck the stars, and the above names are an example of that.

Similarly, if you take the example of mother nature, we take it so much for granted, we consider it as ordinary..we don’t realize her value..mountains, trees, rivers..are all there.. But have you ever thought of the tree, which bears the fruit never consumes it, always gives it, the river which carries water, never drinks it, it always flows to serve others. How extra ordinary is that? If we could have a combination of an efficient human being and a forever giving nature inspired by Mother nature, the quality of life on this planet would be unimaginable…

If we could even, become aware of what we are capable of and live in harmony with nature, we can provide for the rest of the living species, and still have ample of it, then we could rename our earth as ‘heaven’, isn’t it?
