Tantrum Queen

Oh ! My little darling,

Just added 4 to her age,

Was yelling, crying and wailing,

Was in a fit of rage !

Fit of rage, Not for a toy, not for a crayon,

Not for a chocolate, and not for  pop corn,

But to put her shoe on, Which she couldn’t,

I tried to help, allow ? She just wouldn’t..

All through the car ride on the hills,

She threw tantrums with all her skills,

My attempts to calm her were inept,

The driver giving glances, challenging me on motherhood precepts.

Reaching the room, I tried the cartoon channel,

Tried to pacify her through the food funnel,

Simple splashes of water on her face, gave her the breather,

Respite writ large on my face, her hiatus was my biggest appeaser.

My ‘TOY’ grandchildren

via Daily Prompt: Bestow

toys.jpg

I enjoy and literally love to see my little one playing with her soft toys. She has bestowed upon herself the title of motherhood (at about 6 years of age) – she calls herself the mother, and her toys as her babies. She has named them, cuddles up to them, teaches them good values and even her lessons. If at all I tell her to remove her toys and keep it at a proper place, she gets wild..she says, “Mom, they are my babies, don’t call them toys”…

My ventriloquism skills are put to test when I have to cheer her up with the help of her babies, as they talk to her to get her into a good mood.

Above all, I feel I should be in the Guinness book of world records for being the youngest grand mom 🙂

If only, I could,  I would have captured this age and these moments for ever !!

Politics..the bitter truth..

via Daily Prompt: Partake

An Acrostic poetry on the game of politics. Though, it may not be correct to brand every politician under this wide umbrella as corrupt, but say, 90-95% of our present day game players would fit in this game.

P : Prime examples of power mongers,

O : Offering a promising future for the country &

L : Lifetime alleviation of problems of the common man,

I : Injecting false hopes and shamelessly begging for votes,

T : Ticking by the clock of elections,

I : Instigating rivalry and hatred based on caste and religion,

C : Compromising the country’s needs and values, and customizing it to suit their needs,

S : Spearheading the blame game sitting in the opposition, when not in power.

The politicians are super experts, who promise to partake in the development of the nation, and then conveniently turn the crankshaft of the internal engine of the nation in order to power their own interests.

When I experience…

via Daily Prompt: Luminescent

When I shed tears, I cry,

I know I can be emotional,

When I am silent, I listen,

I listen to hear the sounds within and out of me,

When I shut my eyes, I see,

I see to visualize the vast possibility that exists within me,

When I have expectations, I judge,

I understand I can be judgmental,

When I make mistakes, I learn,

I comprehend and gain experience,

When I experience, I love,

When I love, I live,

I live life and spread energy and warmth,

From the luminescent light of the infinite source !!

Where do your thoughts lead you ?

via Daily Prompt: Inchoate

mental-health-3285625__340.png

Thoughts often define the nature or personality of a person..They have the capacity to make us or break us. Thoughts haul the engines of our minds and they drag us in a constant, unhindered direction of negativity or if we happen to be fortunate, in the direction of the positive..

If we do not churn the negative thoughts out, they turn toxic and become frigid and often get fastened and attached to our systems, they drive us in one dimension of negativity, with the blinkers on..

So it is up to us to nurture the inchoate thoughts and to explore the radiant and vibrant ‘SELF’. We ought to break the shackles of being stuck and move out to feel the freshness of life beyond the walls of our self constructed castles..

If tomorrow comes..

via Daily Prompt: Radiant

Today is,

is the birth and inception of a new day,

Today is,

the day, your chance to bask in the glorious sunshine,

Today is,

the day to begin, to enjoy the fresh spring flowers,

Today is,

the day to sway in the resplendent and radiant nature,

Today is,

the launch to unearth and discover the new “YOU”,

Today is,

the first day to commence the rest of your life,

Today is,

the day to locate the divine address within you.

Today is,

the day you have been blessed with,

Today is,

the day to appreciate life and be ever grateful,

For you know not,

If tomorrow comes…
